Social Workers in Tech was founded by Jennifer Henius, LCSW — a clinical social worker, digital health innovator, and national advocate for whole-person well-being.
With nearly 20 years working in federal health and innovation including the Department of Veterans Affairs, a Principal Consultant for MITRE and founder of several social impact ventures — Jennifer saw a growing gap:
Social workers are driving policy, mental health, and care systems, yet largely absent from the rooms where emerging technology is designed, funded and built.
So she created SocialWorkersInTech.com to help social workers step into technology — not as users on the sidelines, but as designers, builders, thinkers, founders, and innovators shaping what comes next.
Her vision is simple:
Social workers deserve a seat at the tech table — as essential partners in designing technology that protects dignity, equity, and human well-being.
